Unbelievable ROI in Just 1.5 Months For a Software Development Company Google Ads Case Study
The referred software development company in this Google Adwords case study has a client base across the globe. The company offers desktop, web, and mobile app development; cloud-based development; and DevOps & CI/CD services.
They had built quite a sufficient amount of business for them. But as every business has room for improvement, our client did as well.
The client has a website that was up to date with minor changes that had no effect on their potential market. However, having the right product on hand is not the only thing that you need to grow your business. As a result, our client used online marketing. Although there had previously been a number of marketers involved who weren’t quite a fit, the head of marketing handled the advertising internally. That didn’t go well either. With this, the client’s journey with OMR started.
Challenges and Objectives
Having a client base across the globe in just two years of the company’s start was a huge milestone for our client. However, the challenging part came for the company when their marketing strategies were not giving them the desired results. In terms of Google Ads, the client’s ad impressions were high, but the click-through rate (CTR) was lower than average—4-6%, which resulted in lower traffic.
We reviewed the history of the client’s Google Ad account, and the numbers spoke to how much that account needed a proper advertising plan. There was a huge gap between CTR and impressions, and the reason behind that was a lack of tags and correct keyphrases. In addition, because the company serves customers all over the world, we needed to target different regions and countries with ads and find keywords with low competition and low bid levels.
Solutions and Execution
We agreed on a target of achieving a 3x return on ad expenditure within a 3-6 month time frame, with the intention of proving incremental growth within that time period.
- We decided to run search ads for the new start and concentrated on one type of ad because the targeting market was vast.
- We found a few irrelevant search terms and removed them from the campaign.
- Monitored budgets and keyword bids to keep up with the budget and finish the target on time.
Results
Due to their unpleasant experience, this software development company was skeptical about the campaign’s potential for success when they first approached us. However, the client was quite pleased with the website’s performance, which generated more than 200 conversions just within 1.5 months.
This case study illustrates how rapidly a startup can acquire market share and profitability with a well-managed Google Ads campaign.
- The above graph, from mid-September 2022 to November 2022 (about 1.5 months), shows the natural progress of how all four metrics (clicks, impressions, conversions, and cost percentage) were almost similar.
- With 55.5K clicks, the website received 3.7K clicks, which shows about a 6.69% CTR compared to the previous less than 4%.
