Daniel Waisberg, a Google Search Relations team member, recently confirmed that the new 24-hour date filter feature is not currently supported by the Google Search Console API. However, this feature is available in the Google Search Console web interface.

Search engine marketing professionals can still query the API for any specific date range, and it will show data accordingly. However, you cannot currently use the new 24-hour view in the API.

John Shehata, CEO of an SEO and manual Google penalty removal company, posted a screenshot of the Google Search Console and tagged Daniel Waisberg asking that is the 24-hour date filter available in the Google Search Console API. To this, Waisberg replied “Nope”.

Interestingly, John Mueller from Google responded in a different way to this question. He said that you could just test it and then referenced a post by Glenn Gabe, a manual Google penalty removal expert.

Gabe in one of his posts mentioned that the new 24-hour view data is available in the Google Search Console API. He ran a few tests and found that the results were very close to what he got from the web interface. However, he was still not sure and asked for a confirmation from a Google official.

Daniel’s Response

Daniel responded with another X post giving some clarification about the 24-hour view filter in the Google Search Console API. He mentioned that the data is available in the API as Glenn Gabe mentioned in his post. He added that if you set dataState to include fresh data, you will see very similar numbers.

It means that the data you get from the API for the last 24 hours will not be exactly the same as what you will get from the Google Search Console web interface. In response to Shehata’s question, Daniel mentioned that the hourly breakdown is not currently available in the API.

Why We Care?

Although the 24-hour view filter is not currently available in the Google Search Console API, search engine marketing experts can still get the data from the web interface. However, the obtained data may not be completely accurate. The 24-hour view data is highly helpful for marketers to get a better understanding of total clicks, impressions, average CTR, and average position of their websites. Google might soon bring the feature to the Search Console API, but an exact timeline cannot be predicted.
