Google Search also has a new way to debug and report indexing problems. Google also launched a new form in which site owners in the United States can report problems with Google Search indexing directly to Google. The following is how it works.

You may report an indexing issue using this form or the “report an indexing issue” button in the footer of this or that support document. To report these indexing issues to Google, you must be logged in to your Google account.

Your name and the website address will be requested on the form. It will then ask you a series of questions to ensure that the indexing problem isn’t caused by you. The query begins by asking whether your website or web pages are not indexed in Google Search, or if they are indexed but don’t rank well in search results.

Here is the full form extended, but if you address any questions differently, Google will guide you to a support article that will assist you in resolving the indexing problem.

In any case, this is a great step toward allowing certain site owners to alert Google of indexing issues or at the very least, directing them to the appropriate location to debug those indexing issues internally.

Many times, indexing problems are caused by technical or quality issues with your platform, but if that isn’t the case, then you’re in luck. This isn’t to say that Google hasn’t had its share of internal problems; they have.
