Pinterest has announced that a mandatory code of conduct, known as the Creator Code, will be implemented shortly to ensure that all users have a positive experience. When it comes to making content for Pinterest, everybody must adhere to the Creator Code.

Until users can post story pins, Pinterest intends to make them embrace these guidelines. Though Pinterest users have to agree to the Creator Code before publishing story pins, these instructions are intended to encourage positive content on the site.

Pinterest is introducing new moderation tools to help keep comment sections welcoming, in addition to launching the Creator Code. Finally, with its first-ever Creator Fund, Pinterest is taking the first step toward compensating content creators.

More information on each of these updates can be found below

Code for the Pinterest Creator

Pinterest will ask users to sign a necessary Creator Code before they can post story pins.

The Creator Code is described as follows by Pinterest:

“The Creator Code is a collection of mandatory guidelines that live inside our product and is intended to inform and create a community around the creation of inclusive and compassionate content. Rather than being reactive and reprimanding, it is meant to be constructive and inspire Creators.”

The five guidelines that makeup the Creator Code are as follows:

  1. Kindness is essential: Be certain that the content does not offend or degrade others.
  2. Fact-check: Ensure that the information you’re using is correct and up-to-date.
  3. Recognize the following triggers: When dealing with visually sensitive material, exercise caution.
  4. Practice Inclusion: Still try to include people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  5. Don’t cause harm: Ensure that every challenge or call to action is secure.
